Autism Awareness

It is National Autism Awareness Month and you can help make a difference!  I am so very excited to share this information with you and NEED your help!  I have worked really hard with my friend, who has a son with autism, to create a positive and kid friendly unit to present to the elementary classroom.  This unit is designed to raise awareness to all students, so that they may see autism in another light and understand it so much better.  This unit gives kids with autism a voice.

Life Science - Adopt a Pond Pet

I have completed another life science project.  I really enjoy creating science materials and resources for the classroom.  When I was teaching in Germany, my team of Primary Center teachers and I thought of doing an "Adopt a Pond Pet" project.  I threw together many of our thoughts into a product I think you will love.  Here is a look at it!!!!

President's Day Activities

Presidents Day is coming soon!  Do you have activities planned for the week?  I have a fun President's Day Pack you can do to get everyone involved.  Children in your room can learn fun and interesting facts about the presidents and display the facts with art to accompany the fun facts they are learning.  Also included is an ABC sort.  I love this activity!  It gets all students involved and some of the facts will surely make them giggle.  Fun for lower and upper grades!

Not the best picture, but I think you get a good idea.  Students will draw a picture to go with the president fact they receive.  The students will then glue down a picture of the president, their art, and fact onto the templates provided.

I hope some of you were lucky enough to get President's Day off!  Enjoy the extended weekend.  I know some schools have to go on President's Day to make up snow days.  I hope this isn't happening to you!  Happy weekend!

Firefly Fractions!

It is Saturday night in South Korea and I am sitting up late glued to my Macbook.  Looking at Pinterest and teacher blogs is such an addiction.  Time flies by when I get sucked into all these amazing ideas.  There are so many awesome educators out there with such creative and engaging ideas!

Life in South Korea is going well.  My family and I are still living out of our suitcases as we wait for our shipment of household goods to arrive.  For me, it has allowed me to immerse myself in blogging, TPT, Facebook and Pinterest.  As for my girls, I feel horrible for them.  They are dying for their toys to arrive.  We've shopped for some new, bought some puzzles, doodled away at some art, but they just want their toys back.  I don't blame them!

We spent last weekend in Seoul and it was phenomenal!  The super sweet Koreans love my little blondes and want to touch them, hold them, and photograph with them wherever we go.

I knocked out another project tonight.  I have been wanting to use the firefly graphics I purchased quite some time ago, so I came up with this.....

Anxious to get this Firefly Fractions project printed off and laminated! 

Countries Around the World

It is finally done!!!  This project was huge and required much research.  I taught myself much about the countries around the world doing this product.  I am so happy with the end result.  I can't wait to put it to use in my own classroom!
